THE TRIAL

If you are formally charged with a crime, and cannot come to a plea agreement, you and your defense counsel will proceed to the trial phase of the criminal process.

Trial experience is something you should keep in mind when choosing a Seattle DUI attorney. There is no subsitute for successfully trying a case in front of a judge and jury.

“A jury consists of twelve persons chosen to decide who has the better lawyer.”
-Robert Frost

The goal of a trial for both a Seattle DUI attorney and the prosecutor is to persuade or convince a jury that, beyond a reasonable doubt, the accused is guilty of driving under the influence, as well as guilty of other charges that may apply.

The prosecution will present its case first and the defense has the opportunity to respond at every step, as well as make its own case in full.
